FOUR CORNERS UNITS 4 & 5

This site is made up of two (2) x 775 MW Babcock & Wilcox Universal Pressure (supercritical) PC Fired boilers equipped with a BHI FW Vortex Series/Split Flame (VS/SF) Low NOx Burners (LNB). Each unit is arranged in four (4) rows and six (6) columns on the front and rear walls for a total of forty-eight (48) burners. BHI FW supplied twenty-four (24) burners for each unit, with the balance to be contracted at a later date. Installation on the first unit (U5) began in Fall of 2017 with Commissioning taking place in Spring of 2018 while the second unit (U4) installation began in Winter of 2018 with Commissioning to follow in the Summer of 2018.
The unit fires low sulfur, western bituminous fuel.
